Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
Prostate cancer is one of the most common cancers worldwide. The diagnosis/staging approach of prostate cancer has improved during recently with the prompt advancements on imaging modalities such as multiparametric magnetic resonance imaging, or prostate specific membrane antigen positron emission tomography. Thus, prostate cancer is clinically more visible and traceable than in the past. On the other hand, robotic surgery has allowed surgeons to examine prostate surgical anatomy and surrounding tissues with more precision. Furthermore, sentinel lymph node procedures and image-guided surgery techniques, which have been incorporated into robotic surgery has emerged as a groundbreaking step to precision in surgery. In this way systematic/templated approaches leave their places to tailored\individualized ones. All these technical advancements, which must be efficacy-proven with high level of evidence, lead to unmet needs in terms of evidence-based medicine. The aim of this special issue is to evaluate the current diagnosis, staging and management of prostate cancer.
